Curriculum at a Glance.....
Infant Classroom
Our bright beautiful infant rooms (Saratoga site only) provide a safe inviting place for your baby where they will be loved and nurtured. The infant room runs according to your baby's needs and schedule. We always say our infant curriculum is feed, diaper, play...feed, diaper, play....feed, diaper, play...
Toddler Classroom
The Toddler years are some of the most crucial times in a child's life to begin to learn new things and understand themselves. Toddlers are encouraged to express their individual interests through interactions with each other and through a hands-on environmental experience. Our staff encourages emergent communication skills by engaging the children in conversations and by helping to resolve conflicts peacefully.
Classroom teachers provide the children in their care with theme-based activities in a center based classroom that is rich in learning materials and literature. Independence is fostered throughout the day with emphasis on daily living skills like pottying and meal times. We are dedicated to helping your child reach their highest level of learning and are excited to have you join us!
Three Year Old Classroom
The preschool years are widely recognized as providing a child with the foundation of lifelong learning. During this time children develop significantly in their physical, social, emotional and cognitive areas. At Learning to Know play is promoted as the major vehicle for learning. A child's self expression is encouraged in our music, art, dramatic play, literature, block, writing and science centers. This classroom is rich with literacy that continually emphasizes preparations for upcoming school years.
Our teachers provide developmentally appropriate lesson plans with emphasis on emergent curriculum. This helps guide children with development self-help skills and a respect for others and materials. Activities are appropriately planned to gently challenge, but never frustrate a child. Self worth is gained as a child successfully masters each age appropriate task.
Pre-Kindergarten Classroom
Learning experiences of preschool years provides a foundation that guides children academically, socially, and emotionally. Children’s learning and intellectual growth are affected by the specific experiences they have in a preschool classroom and these experiences can influence the rest of a child's life.
At Learning to Know your child will be provided with a classroom that is prepared to challange their social and emotional development, language and communication, emergent literacy, reading and writing, and math. Teachers will provide instructional strategies to support students as well as challenge them so they are well prepared for their Kindergarten year ahead.
Kindergarten Wrap Program
Learning to Know offers a fun, safe, quality environment for Kindergarten aged children. While in our K-wrap Program the children are engaged in a program that offers structure with choice. A typical daily schedule will include snack time, homework time, times for active and quiet play, (both indoors and outdoors) free choice and teacher directed activities. We provide a comfortable environment where children will learn to build their confidence, self esteem, character and social skills.
